Guilty or not Guilty? 1 John 1:5-10 "This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives." How many times is it in our lives that we commit sin? All I can say of myself is that I’ve lost count, the things that I’ve said the things that I’ve done, that are not worthy or pleasing to God. Yet at the same time when in bondage to sin we feel as if we are separated from God, literally experiencing hell on earth when we are in bondage to sin. Yet when it seems that we have gotten out of it, we fall again and feel just as bad as before. Why is that? The reason for that is the guilt that Satan puts on us; to get us to fall back into the sin we were in. Condemnation is the feelings you feel after you commit that sin. These are lies from Satan You see the guilt that you feel is not of God; it even says so in His Word. (Romans 8:1 “ Therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”) God convicts you of your sin and doesn’t beat you down about it but asks you to repent of them. Verse nine tells us, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” You see God’s forgiveness is eternal He forgives you and loves you. He loves you, but hates the sin in your life, Remember two completely different things. So the next time Satan comes back and brings up those past sins you can tell him to leave because you have authority and power in Jesus Christ. You have authority in Jesus Christ and you were already taken, your price of death has been paid in blood, the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. God paid the ultimate price for you, which means that God doesn’t want you to be sitting in guilt. If you are sincere in asking for forgiveness your sins are wiped clean, so there is no reason to bring them back up when you are clean. ------------------------------------------------------------ this is a big issue with some friends i have. people hate them, fellow Christians hate them and say they are going to Hell and God hates them. These people like to forget that God loves everyone no matter what, and no one can say whether a person is going to Hell or not. Anyone who sins is going to Hell, so everyone starts off going that way. And even people who are going to Heaven sin, but that sin that they do doesnt mean that they automatically "loose their salvation" and burn in Hell. sheesh. So you cant judge if a person is going to Hell or not by their actions. You've had bad days too. You have your pet sins, just like everyone else does. I have mine too. Doesnt mean i'm going to hell. hell hell hell hell hell
